Scott McKenzie‘s ‘San Francisco’ was the anthem of a generation, preaching peace, love and good times. It was written and produced by John Phillips of The Mamas & Papas, specifically for his friend McKenzie to sing. The original stereo ‘Voice Of Scott McKenzie’ album is now augmented by the Mono single versions of the 45s drawn from the set, plus both sides of McKenzie’s 1968 seven inch outing, ‘Holy Man’, after which Scott went to live in the desert.
