Das formidable Longplay, auf dem Hits wie „Black Magic Woman“ und „Oye Como Va“ enthalten waren, schaffte im Oktober 1970 den Sprung auf Platz 1 der US-Charts, wo es sich insgesamt sechs Wochen lang hielt. Das erfolgreichste Stück des Albums ist zweifellos der Instrumentaltitel „Samba Pa Ti“, der in den siebziger Jahren zu einem der meistgespielten Songs der deutschen Radiostationen avancierte.
