Pete Seeger sang hochbetagt bei der ‚Inauguration‘ von Barack Obama an der Seite von Bruce Springsteen. Er war der wichtigste Folk-Musiker der USA, Zeit seines Lebens war er auch politisch engagiert. Die American Favorite Ballads enstanden zwischen 1957 und 1962 und sind sozusagen ein "nationales Liederbuch" der Staaten.
