Zwanzig Jahre Pearl Jam: für die Band und ihre Millionen Fans auf der ganzen Welt ein Jubiläum, das ausgiebig gefeiert werden will. Neben einem großen "Anniversary Weekend Concert" am Labor Day Weekend (3. und 4. September) im Alpine Valley Music Theatre in East Troy, Wisconsin, mit anschließender Tour durch Kanada, kommen die Anhänger der Kultformation im September in den Genuss der allerersten Full-Length-Banddokumentation. Unter der Regie des preisgekrönten Regisseurs und Musikjournalisten Cameron Crowe ("Almost Famous", "Vanilla Sky" etc.) entstand in den vergangenen Monaten der Film "Pearl Jam Twenty", der neben brandneuen Interviews und Live-Mitschnitten auch umfangreiches Archiv-Material enthält. Zum Film, der am 20.9. auch in ausgewählten Kinos in Deutschland zu sehen sein wird, erscheint mit "Pearl Jam Twenty" ein gleichnamiges Soundtrack-Album, das all jene Songs (29 an der Zahl!) enthält, die Crowe für den Film auswählte. Die DVD des Films wird Ende Oktober erscheinen.
