erfolgreichen Coverversion des Bee Gees-Hits "You Stepped Into My Life", sorgte vor allem die zweite
Single "Pick Me Up, I'll Dance" in den Clubs für Furore und wurde dank der Unterstützung von Larry Levan
ein Dancefloor-Klassiker in der berühmten Paradise Garage.
Melba Moores "Melba" bietet zusätzliche Bonus Tracks und erscheint im Deluxe Super Jewel Case.
After starting out in a career in musical education, Melba Moore turned her attention to performing, and thank god she did! Tony Award winner Melba Moore has been blowing audiences away ever since she first appeared in the hit Broadway musical Hair.
Born in 1945 into a musical family, the daughter of big band leader and saxophonist, Teddy Hill and R&B singer Bonnie Davis, Beatrice Melba Smith began adopted the stage name Melba Moore. Although she loved to act her first love was music and she later decided to focus on a recording career. During the time of releasing her first two albums Melba Moore picked up a Grammy Nomination for Best New Artist. 1978 saw the release of Melba Moore s first album for Epic Records, MELBA. The production duties were left in the extremely capable hands of Philly Soul production duo, McFadden & Whitehead.
he highly successful cover of the Bee Gees penned, You Stepped Into My Life became the albums biggest success and climbed to #5 on the US Dance charts and #12 on the R&B charts. The album itself had long running chart success and peaked at #35 on the US R&B charts. Second single Pick Me Up, I’ll Dance also enjoyed huge club success, becoming a Paradise Garage staple thanks to Larry Levan. BBR is proud to present this fantastic album, newly re-mastered and lovingly re-packaged complete with liner notes and brand new interviews with Melba Moore and legendary remixer, John Luongo especially for this release along with added bonus content.
Released in deluxe Super Jewel cases, BBR Re-Master is a must have for all Soul, Funk and Disco fans out there!
