Das fünfte Kate Bush Album aus dem Jahr 1985 vertrieb Madonna von Platz eins der britischen Charts und Widersprach allem, was man über erfolgreiche Pop-Musik zu Wissen glaubte. Kate Bush produzierte die zwei Suiten dieses Albums in ihrem Heimstudio mit seinen 48 Tonspuren und nutzte die technischen Möglichkeiten, um das Studio selbst als Instrument einzubinden. Das klangliche Resultat war bahnbrechend und trotz allem blieben Bushs Texte so komplex, dass Kritiker weiterhin nach Fußnoten fragten. Die zwei Suiten teilen das Album in zwei komplett unterschiedliche Seiten. Auf der A-Seite befindet sich die Suite „Hounds Of Love" mit ihren einfühlsamen und melodischen Bereichen, die über den Zuhörer wie Seide hinweg gleiten. Die Suite enthält Welthits wie "Running Up That Hill" und "Cloudbusting".
Die zweite Suite "The Ninth Wave" hingegen beschäftigt sich mit dem Thema Geburt und Wiedergeburt. Hierbei ist Bush enorm experimentell und verwebt eine Schlagzeugmaschine mit dem Geläut von Kirchenglocken und schafft es dennoch, ein komplett homogenes Bild abzuliefern.
For those that have yet to discover Kate, four of Kate’s catalog releases will also be available including the original version of both the original releases of ‘The Red Shoes’ (1993) and “The Sensual World’ (1989) along with ‘The Dreaming’ (1982) and ‘Hounds Of Love’ (1985)
As a fan bonus, for the re-issue of ‘Hounds Of Love’, the original song ‘The Big Sky’ is replaced with a special single mix and the entire album ‘The Red Shoes’ is also presented as a new 2011 re-mastered version!
