Unter der Leitung von Dirigent Erich Kunzel flanierte das erfolgreiche Cincinnati Pops Orchestra schon einmal den Broadway entlang. Nun stattet es der New Yorker Musikmeile einen neuen Besuch ab. Heraus kam dabei eine Mischung aus Klassik und Pop, die auch klanglich begeistert: In puncto Surround-Sounds dürfte diese CD – im DSD-Format aufgenommen, verschmilzt sie die Wärme alter Analog-Technik mit der glasklaren Durchzeichnung moderner Digitalverfahren - neue Maßstäbe setzen. Aber auch interpretatorisch ist alles im Lot: Kein anderes Orchester schafft so souverän den Spagat zwischen Klassik und Pop. Ein weitere Grammy-Nomminierung dürfte dem Cincinnati Pops Orchestra mit On Broadway sicher sein.
