First international album release for gold / platinum artist outta Berlin! The band line-up appears like a mini-version of the UN: Itchyban (Vocals, Poland), Johnny Strange (Vocals, Uganda), Larsito (Vocals, Columbia), Mr. Reedoo (Vocals, Germany), Lafrotino (Vocals, Columbia), Don Cali (Vocals, Columbia), DJ Chino (DJ, Korea) and the music & sound is a top notch mix of Hip Hop, Reggae, Dancehall and Latin music. 'Culcha Candela (International Edition)' has all the german lyrics transferred into the multilingual language. The album kicks off with the platinum selling hit 'Fiah!' (german version entitled 'Hamma!') and is a followed by a strong string ot tracks which carry that very unique band to a multicultural audience. First Live-Gigs in Wroclaw, Bogotá, Amsterdam, Venice, Paris, Denmark's Roskilde festival, a. o. showed out the international potential!

The sensation was perfect: "Fiah!" went straight to the top of the German single charts. Though overwhelming, this sudden success wasn't surprising for those following the Berlin septet's development. CULCHA CANDELA's second album had already climbed the German top 20s and their rousing live shows and full tour calendar even enlarged their considerable fan base. All that was missing for a breakthrough was one hit single, preferrably a summer hit! And a hit there was: "Fiah!" (in it´s german version: "Hamma!") stayed for six weeks on the #1 spot of the german single charts and reached platinum status (one of only two german singles in 2 years broke the barrier of 300.000 copies sold, which means platinum in Germany). "Fiah!" raises attention on a very unique band that doesn't just distinguish from German vanilla pop by its members multicultural background. The band line-up appears like a mini-version of the united nations: Itchyban (vocals, Poland), Johnny Strange (vocals, Uganda), Larsito (vocals, Columbia), Mr. Reedoo (vocals, Germany), Lafrotino (vocals, Columbia), Don Cali (vocals, Columbia), DJ Chino (DJ, Korea). And the music! Their energetic mix of hip hop, dance hall reggae and Latin influences represents a completely new, unique and colorful sound and it never sounded a fresh as on CULCHA CANDELA´s self titled third album. Having published "Union Verdadera" (2004) and "Next Generation" (2005) - two high charting LP´s within two years - in 2006 it was time for the band to focus on what made them great in the first place: live shows. Many live shows. Audiences from Wroclaw to Bogotá, Amsterdam to Venice, Paris to Berlin have been carried away by CULCHA CANDELA's very special energy. When they returned to the studio in 2007, for the first time it was possible to put it all into one longplayer - and out came "Culcha Candela", their third album, which contained "Fiah!" and the nearly as successful "Ey DJ". The album itself went gold, "Fiah!" on #1 and the rest is history…
