Die angesagten Interpreten dieses Zeitraumes sind echten C&WFreunden immer noch ein Begriff. Hier findet man aber nicht nur die Topstars mit ihren Hits sondern auch Musiker der „Zweiten Reihe“ oder hervorragende Songs die sich auf LPs „versteckt“ haben und deshalb nie das Licht der Charts erblicken konnten.
Nach einer kurzen Einführung in die Geschichte der Country- Musik werden die wichtigsten Musiker mit einer kurzen, aber aussagekräftigen Biografie vorgestellt. Als Überraschung haben wir hier die ersten Gehversuche von Superstar Kenny Rogers (1958) und Dolly Parton (1959), die beide ihre großen Erfolge erst ab Mitte der 1960er Jahre feiern sollten.
Angereichert wird das Booklet mit einer Vielzahl von seltenen Schallplattencovern und Titelbildern sehr rarer Sheet-Musik- Ausgaben. Die Sheet-Musik-Blätter waren für Musiker gedacht und enthielten die Noten der einzelnen Songs.
Die Titel auf den CDs sind nach Jahrgängen angeordnet und enthalten neben dem Jahr der Veröffentlichung auch die höchste Chart-Position der amerikanischen C&W-Charts. Einzige Ausnahmen sind Slim Dusty und Johnny Duncan & His Bluegrass Boys, die nur in Großbritannien in Erscheinung traten. Johnny Duncan war Amerikaner der in England vom „Skiffle-Boom“ partizipierte.
