All the charm, energy and romance of the American teenage dream was summoned up by the fun hits purveyed by Chris Montez in the pre-Beatles era Sixties. The good-looking young singer was born Ezekiel Christopher Montanez in Los Angeles in 1943 and was discovered by record producer Jim Lee of Monogram Records. As Chris Montez he scored a worldwide smash hit with ‘Let’s Dance’ in 1962, which got to Number 2 in the UK and Number 4 in the US charts. ‘Some Kinda Fun’ was another big dance hit the following year, and both songs are included among the 20 lively tracks on this rockin’ compilation. Leave your inhibitions behind and let’s dance.
