"One o'clock, two o'clock, three o'clock, rock!" Has anyone on earth not heard that? Bill Haley was playing rock & roll before anyone even knew what it was, launching the style that paved the way for every other rock & roll singer, including Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, and Chuck Berry. He was also the first rock singer to tour Europe and score hits there. By the time this LP was released in 1956, Haley had already scored hits with "Crazy, Man, Crazy" and most significantly 1955's "Rock Around the Clock", which eventually sold somewhere in the neighbourhood of 25 million copies. Although usually equated with the birth of Rock & Roll, it was not until the release of the historic 1956 film, "Blackboard Jungle", starring Glenn Ford (where "Rock Around the Clock" is the theme song) that the copies started to fly off the shelves.
