Al Atkins ist ein Sänger mit außergewöhnlichem Talent und wird den meisten als Gründungsmitglied und original Sänger der Britischen Heavy Metal Legende Judas Priest bekannt sein.
Al Atkins (später auch Solo und bei Holy Rage aktiv) wird hier verstärkt durch den Christian Rock-Gitarristen Paul May (A. N.D., Temple Dogs), der bereits mit Rock-Größen wie Roy Wood (u. a. ELO), MC 5 oder auch Ex- Priest-Drummer Dave Holland zusammen arbeitete.
Serpents Kiss ist das erste Album des Duos und ein gelungener Mix aus traditionellem Heavy Metal und einer großen Portion Progressive Metal.
Das Album wurde 2011 aufgenommen und featured elf Tracks, von denen zehn Eigenkompositionen sind. Der finale Track ist eine gelungene Coverversion von dem Kiss Song Cold Gin.
Atkins / May Project is the current project led by Al Atkins and Paul may. Al Atkins is a vocalist of rare talent and of course will be known by many as the founder member and original singer with British heavy metal legends Judas Priest. Over the years Al has released a number of solid well received rock albums and some of his earlier songs appear on the first Judas Priest albums. Serpents Kiss is the first album top come from the duo and is a mix of traditional heavy metal and a somewhat new direction for Al ;Progressive Metal.
The album was recorded in early 2011 and features eleven tracks with ten of the tracks being original compositions and the final track a cover of the Kiss song Cold Gin. The album will appeal to the large and dedicated “Progressive Metal” fan base but also the large fan base commanded by Al Atkins through his connection with Judas Priest.
