Just als America 1973 einen Grammy als "Best New Artist" gewannen, veröffentlichten sie ihr zweites Album "Homecoming", das entsprechend von Kritikern und Fans gefeiert wurde. Die Single "Ventura Highway" fungierte als Teaser zum Album und knackte die Top 10. Das Album folgte auf kurz darauf und stürmte seinerseits die Billboard Top 10. Die Band polierte ihren Sound weiter auf und baute ihre patentierte Folk-Pop Formel weiter aus, die sie für ihr self-titled Debüt des Vorjahres angewendet hatte. Homecoming had three huge chart singles with Ventura Highway, Don't Cross The River and Only In Your Heart, as well as significant rock radio staples like John Martyn's Head And Heart and their classic rocker California Revisited.
Not only do you get a great album pressed on 180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl, it is mastered from the original Warner Bros. Records tapes by Joe Reagoso at Friday Music Studios and at Capitol Studios in Hollywood, CA, protected in a vinyl LP sleeve as well as vinyl album cover sleeve.
The LP graphics are attractively packaged in a gatefold cover, making Homecoming a pleasant surprise for both the ears and eyes of audiophiles everywhere.
