Constance Keene Live Recital Rachmaninoff, MacDowell, Chopin, Encores
Constance Keene (1921-2005) was a truly great pianist and a marvelous teacher. She was a significant figure for many years in the musical life of New York.
She studied with Abram Chasins (whom she later married), won the prestigious Naumburg award and was admired by artists like Horowitz and Rubinstein.
This is a never before released live recital from 1995 and she plays with power, refinement, beautiful tone, virtuosity, elegance and passion together with "a complete identification with the idiom of the music" (booklet by her pupil, Donald Isler).
Not to be missed by any serious pianophile!
