Married to Johnny Hallyday, Sylvie Vartan was France’s queen of pop. Known for her kittenish style and cutting-edge fashionability, Sylvie was amongst France’s icons. Her music was equally fabulous. Irrésistiblement is the first ever collection of her grooviest, most swinging and most danceable 60s cuts to be released for the English-language market.
It’s the first British Sylvie Vartan release since the 1960s. Covering the golden years 1965 to 1968, Irrésistiblement compiles the best of the songs that were specially composed for Sylvie. Gallic performers would record French-language cover versions of British and UK hits but Irrésistiblement is the best of the songs uniquely crafted for Sylvie.
Her songwriters included ex-pat British musician Mick Jones, later famous as the lynchpin of 70s/ 80s hitmakers Foreigner. Mick s compositions are featured. Rarities include the four tracks from her two highly sought.
