Die ersten beiden Alben der Band auf einer CD – digital neu gemastert, im schönen Slipcase und zum guten Preis!1969 veröffentlichte die Band – noch unter dem Bandnamen Ambrose Slade – ihr Debütalbum ’Beginnings’, mit dem sie die ersten Schritte Richtung Weltkarriere machten. Das Zweitwerk, ’Play It Loud’, erschien 1970 unter dem gekürzten Bandnamen Slade und wurde von Chas Chandler produziert (der auch Manager der Band war).Die beiden Originalalben wurden für diese Reissue mit zwei Bonustracks aufgestockt: Den beiden Singles ’Wild Winds Are Blowing’ und ’Get Down And Get With It’, ihrem ersten Top 20 Hit.
Before the massive hits and eccentric spelling, Slade were a group with an impressive facility with other people’s material as well as a burgeoning song craft of their own. Inspired and intelligent, tasteful and sophisticated, these two albums document a group evolving into a major rock force.
