Walt Disney gehörte schon früh zu den Pionieren, die Musik als Ausdruck von Gefühlen, Stimmungen etc. in Filmen gezielt einsetzten, um nicht zu sagen, er hat dieses Stilmittel entscheidend geprägt.

So waren gerade frühe Klassiker der Filmgeschichte auch immer zu großen Teilen bereits als Musical angelegt und Gesang und Tanz gehörte zur Grundausbildung eines guten Schauspielers dazu.
Wenig verwunderlich also das Walt Disney sich bis heute auch einen großen Namen in der Musical-Szene erwirtschaften konnte. "König der Löwen" in Hamburg ist auch nach Jahren immer noch regelmäßig ausverkauft, schon steht "Tarzan" für eine deutsche Produktion in den Startlöchern. Am New Yorker Broadway wird dieses Jahr "Arielle-The Little Mermaid" gelaunched. Ein Mega-Bühnen-Hit auch "Die Schöne und das Biest"!
