YESSHOWS wurde von Chris Squire produziert und erschien sieben Jahre nach dem ersten Live-Album von Yes, YESSONGS, und angesichts des Erfolgs dieses Albums ist es ein wenig überraschend, dass Atlantic Records so lange gebraucht hat, um der Band einen Nachfolger vorzuschlagen. Squire hatte eine ausgesprochen schwierige Aufgabe vor sich, als er sich hinsetzte, um alle Shows der Band aus drei Jahren Tournee zu sichten, aber er beschränkte sich schließlich auf acht Tracks von fünf Shows.

Oh, und falls Sie sich wundern, die Besetzung der Band war größtenteils Jon Anderson, Steve Howe, Chris Squire, Rick Wakeman und Alan White, obwohl Patrick Moraz bei "The Gates of Delirium" und "Ritual" anstelle von Wakeman die Keyboards spielt. YESSONGS war nicht so erfolgreich wie sein Vorgänger, aber es war dennoch ein solides Album, das bis auf Platz 43 der Billboard 200 kletterte und Platz 22 in Großbritannien erreichte. YES has always been known for their elaborately staged concerts over the decades, filling arenas with mesmerized fans across the globe. In celebration of their much emulated brand of progressive rock music, Chris Squire of YES culled together some of their finest performances over the past number of stadium tours from 1976-78. The brilliant album would be called YESSHOWS, and it featured the classic line-up of Jon Anderson, Chris Squire, Rick Wakeman, Steve Howe and Alan White as well as Patrick Moraz.

Splendid live renditions from past triumphs like Tales From Topographic Oceans, Relayer, and Time And A Word were featured fare on the four blazing sides of this long out of print two LP set. Incredible workouts on Wonderous Stories, Don’t Kill The Whale, Time And A Word, and the epic The Gates Of Delirium made this live document a much time honored masterpiece.

This amazing release has been out of print for several years, that is until now…. Friday Music is very pleased to offer the incredible YESSHOWS/EXPANDED now on an impeccable remastered two cd set, featuring the full length smash bonus live tracks of their earliest hits I’ve Seen All Good People (a. Your Move b. All Good People) and the album finale Roundabout. Also for this special release, the complete unedited half hourversion of Ritual is now one complete track!

Mastered from the original Atlantic Records tapes by Yes fan and expert Joe Reagoso (Yes / Deep Purple / Alice Cooper), this amazing disc is also enhanced by the original album artwork elements by the legendary Roger Dean. Truly a remarkable masterpiece in sound and vision.
