Nach einer langen Phase mit überwiegend Blues-orientierten Stücken kehrte Gary Moore im Jahr 2010 zur reinen Rockmusik zurück. Er schrieb und arbeitete gerade an einem neuen Rockalbum, als ihn am 6. Februar 2011 der jähe Tod ereilte.
Dieses Konzert aus Montreux vom Juli 2010 war sein letzter gefilmter Auftritt. Die Setliste basierte schwerpunktmäßig auf seinen überaus erfolgreichen Rockscheiben der Achtziger mit Songs wie „Over The Hills And Far Away”, „Empty Rooms”, „Out In The Fields“ und dem unsterblichen „Parisienne Walkways“, ergänzt durch einige unvergessene Hitsingles seiner Bluesklassiker sowie die drei brandneuen Nummern „Days Of Heroes”, „Where Are You Now?” und „Oh Wild One”, die für das aufgrund seines frühen Todes leider nicht mehr fertiggestellte Album vorgesehen waren.
Gary Moore war einer der besten und meistrespektierten Gitarristen Großbritanniens, diese Show zeigt welch riesiges Talent seit seinem Tod schmerzlich vermisst wird.
Das Bonusmaterial auf den zeitgleich veröffentlichten DVD und Blu-ray (die Show ist ohne Bonus-Stücke auch als CD erhältlich) umfasst überdies vier bislang unveröffentlichte Songs aus Moores 97er Montreux-Show: „One Good Reason“, „Oh Pretty Woman“, „Still Got The Blues“ und „Walking By Myself“.
2010 saw Gary Moore make a return to rock music after a long period of time exploring the blues. He was writing and working on a new rock album when all was brought to a halt by his untimely death on February 6th, 2011. This concert from Montreux in July 2010 was his last performance to be filmed. The setlist draws heavily on his hugely successful rock albums of the eighties, stirs in a couple of his classic blues tracks with some memorable hit singles and includes three brand new songs that would have featured on the album left sadly uncompleted on his death. Gary Moore was one of the finest and most respected guitarists the British Isles have ever produced. This concert shows just what a talent we will miss.
