Robert Fripp & Theo Travis: Follow (CD & DVD Audio)
Follow (CD & DVD Audio)
1 CD, 1 DVD-Audio
CD (Compact Disc)

My forthcoming release with guitar legend Robert Fripp is now ready for its worldwide release on the Panegyric label. The album will come in a deluxe 2 disc set. The first disc is a CD of the album and the second a DVDA which contains 5.1 surround sound mixes of the album plus 3 exclusive bonus tracks and also the album in high resolution format (24 bit / 48k). In addition, there is 30 minutes of video of Travis & Fripp filmed live in concert in two beautiful churches in Falmouth and Newlyn, Cornwall, UK in October 2010. This exclusive live concert footage is the only film of us in existence and the audio was recorded in multitrack and is mixed in superb stereo CD quality.
The album was recorded from 2010 to 2011 in various studios in the UK, and some of the recordings were also made in Spain. It was mixed and mastered by Grammy-nominated producer extraordinaire Steven Wilson. The album is a development from previous Travis & Fripp releases in that it is not only mixed in 5.1 surround sound - it was largely conceived in surround sound. So for example, on 'Hear Our Voices' the four part flute choir with the lead soprano sax voice is mixed with one flute in each corner and the soprano sax front middle. 'Open Land' has different woodwind textures around the 360 degrees listening space, and some movement too eg the pair of clarinets which slowly move behind the listener. 'Return to Saturn' has the cascading clarinet chords and they are voiced so that each part of each chord is placed separately around the 360 degrees listening space and each chord completes one full circle. On the track '1979', I recorded my parts on top of some archive 1979 Frippertronics recordings recorded in New York City. I do not think there has been any previous release of Robert Fripp's Frippertronics in 5.1 Surround sound, so this in itself is very exciting. Robert's guitars generally are all recorded in full quadrophonic sound, so mixing in 5.1 was a natural development of this. Personally, I think the album sounds absolutely amazing in surround sound and I hope you will too!

,,Nach ihrer ersten Zusammenarbeit im Jahr 2008 haben Saxofonist Theo Travis (Porcupine Tree, The Tangent, Soft Machine Legacy) und Gitarrist Robert Fripp (King Crimson) nun für Follow Elemente aus ihren Konzerten mit Studio-Aufnahmen verwoben, erzeugen so Sounds zwischen Ambient und eruptiven Ausbrüchen."
