Auf der Kopie eines Cristofori-Ferrini-Pianoforte (1730) offenbart Linda Nicholson die besonderen Qualitäten dieser frühesten Hammerflügel. Das Repertoire passt dabei nicht nur aus historischen Gründen, sondern eignet sich hervorragend, um gerade auf einem solchen Instrument gespielt zu werden, dessen Klang trotz der dynamischen Fähigkeiten viel näher am Cembalo ist als später gebaute Exemplare.
